LGBTQIA Awareness – Moving from a Month to a Mindset
On-Demand Webinar
June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, a time when thoughts often turn to LGBTQIA+ individuals and themes throughout history. Yet, LGBTQIA+ people live out their identities in our communities, workplaces, schools, and families every day, not just one month out of the year.
Although much has changed since those first LGBTQIA+ advocates sought equal rights and fair treatment, LGBTQIA+ communities today continue to experience disparities and barriers to health and wellness as compared to the population at large. LGBTQIA+ individuals have unique health and wellness needs and addressing them as an organization benefits everyone.
In this webinar, author and consultant, Luca Maurer, will discuss how LGBTQIA+ awareness month and health equity intersect. He will provide examples of how LGBTQIA+ individuals have demonstrated the power of equity and belonging throughout history as well as how to apply their lessons today in developing equitable and intersectional health and wellness approaches.
During this webinar, you will learn:
- Examples of health and wellness disparities facing LGBTQIA+ people
- How equitable holistic approaches to health and wellness can counter and reverse these trends
- Three actions you can take to move from accepting to expecting LGBTQIA+ people and communities, as well as how to build a culture of LGBTQIA+ equity and belonging
